I am a fourth-year Wildlife Biology and Conservation student at the University of Guelph. I began volunteering in the Hajibabaei Lab in my first year of university before being hired in April 2018 as a laboratory technician. The biomonitoring projects, such as STREAM, that this lab conducts attracted me to this position, as well as the hands on learning opportunities relating to Next-Generation Sequencing. I am currently completing my fourth-year thesis with the lab studying new sampling protocols for diatom metabarcoding.
